Chi sono

Marzio Foresti nasce a Porta Ticinese in Milano nel 1938, in giovane età frequenta i corsi della Scuola d'Arte del Castello Sforzesco, si appassiona ai caratteri storici della lettera latina frequentando la Biblioteca Trivulziana con il proprio insegnante Don Pietro Spada, Canonico del Duomo di Milano. Lavora per molti anni come cartografo e disegnatore tecnico acquisendo manualità pratica, successivamente frequenta i corsi dell'Associazione Calligrafica Italiana perfezionando, con l'insegnamento del calligrafo Klaus Peter Shaffel, l'utilizzo dei supporti membranacei, dei pigmenti e dell'oro in foglia secondo metodiche ricavate dalle antiche ricette medievali.

Marzio Foresti esegue manoscritti con testi su ordinazione. Le opere sono scritte, dorate e dipinte manualmente in esemplari unici.

Who I am

Marzio Foresti was born in Porta Ticinese, Milan, in 1938 and as a young man he attended courses at the Sforzesco Castle School of Art. His passion for the historical characters of Latin letters grew whilst frequenting the Trivulziana Library with his teacher Don Pietro Spada, Canon of Milan Cathedral. He worked many years as cartographer and technical designer gaining manual practice, and successively attended the Italian Calligraphy Association courses, perfecting, with the teachings of the calligrapher Klaus Peter Shaffel, the use of membrane supports, pigments and gold leaf according to methods taken from ancient medieval recipes.

Marzio Foresti produces manuscripts with texts to order. His works are written, gilded and hand painted unique examples.
